Use cases
Who authorized that settlement?
The same question a loss adjuster is asked today: who authorized it, under which policy, and how it is proven.
The situation
The example comes from the insurance page.
The head of claims authorizes an agent to settle the simple claims of one line directly, with the duty to escalate if the policyholder objects to direct settlement or a technical report is missing.
The four steps, in the insurance example
Authorization
An identified person authorizes the agent for one function. That authorization is revoked with immediate effect.
Today
Agent act
The agent acts under that authorization, and each act stays tied to the person who gave it. Refusal of acts outside that authority comes in 2027.
Illustrative example The agent builds the file, requests the documents, prepares the preliminary report and proposes the indemnity; it escalates what falls outside. Each act stays tied to the head of claims who authorized it. In 2027 refusal of acts outside authority arrives: a proposal above the delegated cap will not go through.

Signed record
Who acted, under whose authorization, and when. Every record is signed: a later alteration breaks the signature.
Today
Verification
Today, the signed record stays in the insurer’s own cloud. Verification on one’s own machine, without access to Unica, comes with the verifiable evidence package: as a service in 2027 and as a product in 2028.
Illustrative example The policyholder complains to the supervisor about the settlement. With the evidence package, the supervisor verifies on its own machine who had authorized the agent and when it acted, without entering the insurer’s system.

Who asks for proof
The person who complains, the supervisor they complain to, and internal audit or the external auditor.
A policyholder complains about a settlement made eight months ago. From 2028, the documents and the policy of that day are rebuilt, not today’s.
